Werner Zimmermann is an awarding-winning artist, illustrator and educator. He has illustrated over 20 children’s books, including At the Pond and Porcupine in a Pine Tree. Werner recently retired from teaching Life Drawing at colleges in Ontario, Canada.
As a book illustrator and painter, Werner wanted an online shop to sell his art and to link to his books for sale. He also wanted to offer information about his school and library visits and share his how-to-draw tutorials on a blog.

For the look of this project, we wanted Werner’s art and personality to take centre stage. Rather than a standard logo design, we asked Werner to produce a stylised signature and a bespoke piece of art that would set the tone and the colours for the site.
We rewrote Werner’s site wording to shorten it and align it to his goals and suggested he engage a professional photographer.
A consultation hour in his shop allows Werner to charge for his time when he consults, and contact forms serve specific purposes throughout the site.
